LSU Tiger Marching Band - "The Golden Band from Tigerland" The origins of this tremendous part of the Football Saturday experience in Baton Rouge began in 1893 and became a marching band in the early 1900s. Through the decades, the band has performed on marquee state and national events such as governor inauguration parades, Mardi Gras, world fairs, NFL games and much more. Whether it's a humid, scorching day or a cold, rainy night in Tiger Stadium, pride in a rich past and dedication to a legacy of excellence and musical preeminence are hallmarks of the marching band experience at LSU. Playing spirit enhancing songs is a huge part of what the Golden Band plays and those songs include the LSU Alma Mater, "Fight for LSU", "Hey Fighting Tiger", "Tiger Rag (Hold that Tiger), and "Touchdown for LSU" (Pregame).
