NFL Record Setter Brees Sets the NFL's Single-Season Passing Yards Mark
|
Not only Did Drew Brees pass the Saints to a 2011 NFC South Division title in a Monday Night Football 45-16 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Dec. 26, 2011, but he set a new NFL passing record as well. The Saints QB entered the team's 15th game of the season ust 305 passing yards away from breaking Dan Marino’ s single-season passing record of 5,084 passing yards. Brees accomplished the feat with his final pass of the Saints victory over the Falcons. The record-setting play took place when Brees threw a 9-yard touchdown to pass to running back Darren Sproles. The gain officially put him passed Miami Dolphins’ legend Dan Marino for the single-season passing record by just two yards.
